Issue Description: 

To help alleviate the general shortage situation of the Samsung 256MB DIMM 
(P/N 501-6005), the Netra t 1400/1405 Product Team have partially qualified 
another 256MB DIMM from the vendor Micron.

This DIMM (P/N 501-6718) is only being fitted in manufacturing to specific 
Netra t 1400/1405 configurations that have been qualified and will be used
until last customer ship date, June 2004.

The Micron DIMM has only been qualified/approved to be used on the following 
manufacturing configurations which have been dash-rolled for traceability.

600-7214-03 ASY,NETRA,T1405,4*440,4G,2*36G
602-2358-03 ASY,NETRA,T1400,1*440,1G,1*36G

600-6777-05 ASSY,COMV,T1400,1P,1GB,2*36GB

Expected quantity of systems to be shipped is 500.

On these configurations, Samsung DIMMS (501-6005 etc) can be used as FRU 
replacements for Micron DIMMS (501-6178).

The Micron DIMM has not been qualified for and will not ship with the 
following manufacturing configurations:

600-7216-03   ASY,NETRA,T1405,2*440,2G,2*36G
600-7220-03   ASY,NETRA,T1400,2*440,2G,2X36G

The above 2 configurations will ship with Samsung DIMMS.  To avoid any
possibility of the Micron DIMM being installed in one of the non-qualified
configurations, the Micron DIMM will not be stocked as a FRU.

Corrective Action: 

The following recommendation is provided as a guideline for authorized
Sun Services Field Representatives who may encounter the above
mentioned issue.

When working on the following Netra t 1400/1405 configurations, any Micron 
DIMM (P/N 501-6718) failure will require the substitute Samsung DIMM 
(P/N 501-6005) to be used.

Mixed DIMM banks and mixed DIMMS within a bank are supported. 

The WW Sublist has been updated to show that when ordering F501-6718, the 
substitute F501-6005 should be used.

Implementation Footnote: 

i)   In case of MANDATORY FINs, Sun Services will attempt to contact   
     all affected customers to recommend implementation of the FIN. 
   
ii)  For CONTROLLED PROACTIVE FINs, Sun Services mission critical    
     support teams will recommend implementation of the FIN  (to their  
     respective accounts), at the convenience of the customer. 

iii) For REACTIVE FINs, Sun Services will implement the FIN as the   
     need arises.
