Lun 0 is a SCSI requirement and must exist for sd to work properly. See Document ID: <Document: 1017707.1> Title: Logical Unit Number(LUN) 0 , A SCSI Requirement Once lun 0 is mapped, the channel changes to "80M/Wide" or appropriate setting. Hence we must map a lun 0 for proper operation of the 3310. This needs to be done on all host channels.
