Issue Description: 
Customers may receive a Sun Fire V250 system where the SCSI Backplane
data connector J501 is not fully latched on the left handside.  As a
result of the connector J501 not fully latched, customers may expect
that this will affect the functionality of the system.  However, there
were no report on connectivity issues or functional failures due to
this issue.

Functional failures are not expected, but possible SCSI errors
could occur as a result of accidental cable movements internally or
after the add-on of the X Option DAT Drive. This device is not part
of standard configurations and is only expected to be added as an X
option to 5% of installed base.

If the cable connector J501 is not fully connected, the following example
of SCSI Bus errors could be reported:

The root cause of this issue is a foul fit condition between certain
capacitors manufacturers used in position EC502 and one of the
connector latches.  Systems were still passing the electrical test and
Manufacturing continued to build and ship product with the following
changes.

Short term - A temporary change will be implemented in Manufacturing.
	     All fresh build systems from March 2004 will be shipped
	     with latchless connectors fitted to J501.  Removing the
	     latch will eliminate any possibility of bad connectivity.
	     The Product team have verified with Shock and Vibration
	     testing that connectivity of J501 will be maintained
	     without the latch.  The cable pull arrangement is still
	     maintained to assist any required cable removal.

Long term -  The SCSI Backplane (370-5959) circuitry is being modified
	     to provide greater distance between connector J501 and
	     capacitor EC502.  The revised Backplane will be available
             around late FYQ4 of 2004 from manufacturing.

The Product Team have completed Shock and Vibration testing in both of 
these senarios without connectivity failures.

Corrective Action: 
The following recommendation is provided as a guideline for authorized
Sun Services Field Representatives who may encounter the above
mentioned issue.

Currently engineering is revising the Backplane and will be 
available around late FY4Q of 2004.  Until the availability of this new
Backplane, the field is advised to perform the following:

1. Check the console to see if you get similar to the following error
   message.

2. If detect the above error message, then the corrective action is to
ensure that connector J501 is fully inserted into the SCSI Backplane
(F370-5959) even if one of the latches is not fully located.

As soon as the upgraded backplane is available, a LEAP will be issued
to purge all FRU stock of the (-01) backplane.

Implementation Footnote: 
i)   In case of MANDATORY FINs, Sun Services will attempt to contact   
     all affected customers to recommend implementation of the FIN. 
   
ii)  For CONTROLLED PROACTIVE FINs, Sun Services mission critical    
     support teams will recommend implementation of the FIN  (to their  
     respective accounts), at the convenience of the customer. 

iii) For REACTIVE FINs, Sun Services will implement the FIN as the   
     need arises.
