Issue Description:
This FIN is to notify the field of a part change on the Sun Ultra 5
or Ultra10 Power Supply Unit. Effective Jan/01/2001, the PSU part
number will change from 370-3162-xx/370-3171-xx to
370-4326-xx/370-4325-xx respectively. The new U5/U10 PSU
(370-4326-xx/370-4325-xx) is backward compatible. However, the old PSU
(P/N# 370-3162-xx/370-3171-xx) is not forward compatible. Both PSU's
will be carried as FRU's.

The new PSU incorporates changes (specifically an auto-sensing/power
factor correction feature) making the Sun Ultra5/Ultra10 system fully
CE compliant. Accordingly, the new PSU's do NOT have an incoming
voltage selection switch. Field Engineers should be aware of this change and
should not attempt to set the incoming voltage switch on the new PSU's
as this step is now taken care of automatically by the PSU internal
circuitry. FE's should also order the same part number in the event a
replacement is neccessary.

Systems containing the new PSU can be identified by inspecting the EZ label.
Units with the new PSU are marked with BC"D" SERIES 3.

The part number change was necessary due to a European power source
auto-switching requirement to make the new PSU fully CE compliant.
Implementation:
---
        | | MANDATORY (Fully Pro-Active)
         ---

         ---
        | | CONTROLLED PRO-ACTIVE (per Sun Geo Plan)
         ---

         ---
        | X | REACTIVE (As Required)
         ---
Corrective Action:
An Authorized Enterprise Services Field Representative may avoid the
above mentioned problems by following the recommendations as shown below.

When Power Supply Unit replacements are required for Ultra5/Ultra10
systems, Field Engineers should replace the defective PSU with the same
part number. That is, if you remove a 370-4326-xx you should replace
it with a 370-4326-xx. If you remove a 370-3162-xx, replace it with
the same.

Removal and installation procedures for the PSU can be found in the Sun
System Handbook online at:
