Issue Description:
The current FRU strategy for the Netra t1 server is to replace
failing disks or memory identified using diagnostics or else replace
the complete system box (diskless system FRU). This strategy ensures
minimum repair/replacement time; however, it requires an additional
configuration of a diskless system FRU to be stocked every time a new
system configuration is released. The numbers of Netra t1s sold
worldwide make this is a very expensive strategy as Enterprise Services
has to hold sufficient FRUs to support each configuration worldwide.

In order to reduce the cost of supporting the Netra t1 100/105, a new
FRU strategy has been adopted. The new strategy replaces the existing
diskless system FRUs by three configurations of memoryless system FRUs.
The three new memoryless system FRUs can be used together with existing
Netra t1 memory and disk FRUs to support all the configurations of the
Netra t1 100/105.  The new memoryless system FRUs are as follows;

F540-4528-0X	FRU.ASSY, GEN, 440MHZ, NO MEM, DC
F540-4529-0X	FRU.ASSY, GEN, 440MHZ, NO MEM, AC
F540-4564-0X	FRU,ASSY, GEN, 360MHZ, NO MEM, AC

Separate diskless system FRUs will not be provided for any new
configurations of the Netra t1 servers as the replacement memoryless
system FRU's will be supporting them. Below is a list of the existing
diskless system FRUs indicating the replacement memoryless system
FRU and associated memory FRU;

Corrective Action:
When ordering an additional system FRUs to support the existing Netra
t1 100/105 servers, the part number for the new memoryless system FRU
should be used. The numbers of system FRU types required to support
all versions of Netra t1 has been reduced from seven to three;

     1. a 360Mhz/AC System FRU
     2. a 440Mhz/AC System FRU
     3. a 440MHz DC System FRU

A list of the diskless system FRUs, the replacement memoryless system
FRUs, and the associated memory FRUs to be used is shown on the above
Problem Description.

LEAP 1088 is being implemented in the FRU repair process in order to
convert existing system FRUs into a memoryless system FRUs as well as
separate memory FRUs. Existing FRUs will be converted as part of
the normal repair process.

Existing diskless System FRU's can still be used to support any similar
Netra t1 100/105 servers (same CPU Speed and AC/DC Power) by replacing
the memory card(s) with an appropriate memory FRU.

Implementation Footnote:
i) In case of MANDATORY FINs, Enterprise Services will attempt to
     contact all affected customers to recommend implementation of
     the FIN.

ii) For CONTROLLED PROACTIVE FINs, Enterprise Services mission critical
     support teams will recommend implementation of the FIN (to their
     respective accounts), at the convenience of the customer.

iii) For REACTIVE FINs, Enterprise Services will implement the FIN as the
     need arises.
