DOC: 802-7731-11 Creator Installation Guide
BugId: 4134806
Issue Description:
There have been numerous reports from the field in reference to Ultra
10s, 30s and 60s installed with the Creator Series 3 single buffered
FFB2+ (P/N 501-4789-05) that fail the SunVTS 2.1.2. ffbtest. Subseq-
uently, when this error is encountered the FFB2+ board is presumed
faulty and a service call is generated for it's replacement.

Abbreviated SunVTS console error message shown below:

SUNWvts.ffbtest.6107 09/18/98 10:27:35 ffbtest fbs/ffb0 ERROR:Blend2
test failed at (600,100), expected value = 0x8d8d8d , actual value =
XOR of expected and actual values = 0xdadada
0x575757, Probable_Cause(s):
Recommended_Action(s):

Root cause of the above described error message has been attributed
to the replacement of the FBC2+ ASIC with the FBC2 ASIC on the FFB2+
card (P/N 501-4789-05) as implemented by ECO WO_13508. Subsequently,
the FBC2 ASIC will fail the SunVTS 2.1.2. ffbtest due to the lack of
driver support for the FBC2 ASIC.
Implementation:
---
    	| | MANDATORY (Fully Pro-Active)
  	 ---

         ---
    	| | CONTROLLED PRO-ACTIVE (per Sun Geo Plan)
  	 ---

         ---
    	| X | REACTIVE (As Required)
  	 ---
Corrective Action:
In response to the above stated problem with SunVTS 2.1.2 failing the
ffbtest on the Creator Series 3 single buffered FFB2+ (P/N 501-4789-05)
installed on Ultra 10s, 30s and 60s, the following recommendation has
been issued for the resolution of this problem.

1. Apply the appropriate patches for the respective Solaris release:

	OS 2.5.1 HW3, S596_shwp1197_fcs
Patches: 106387-02 or greater SunVTS Release: 2.1.3
105789-03 or greater VIS/XIL Graphics Patch
105790-09 or greater FFB Graphics Patch

	OS 2.6 S297_shwp_0398
Patches: 106387-02 or greater SunVTS Release: 2.1.3
105360-18 or greater FFB Graphics Patch
105361-06 or greater VIS/XIL Graphics Patch
