Issue Description:
The Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI Array, DC Power configuration, does not
conform to NEBS (Network Equipment Building Systems) Level 3 and
FCC Class B specifications.

This problem does not readily surface as a symptom to a customer.
No safety or operational issue would be noticed by a customer.
The only way to determine pass/fail of this part would be in a
test environment setup to detect DC Conducted Emission values.
This issue only affects DC Power configurations.

Root cause determined that a third party test facility had a test
process that incorrectly gave a "pass" indication for DC Conducted
Emissions. This situation has been corrected.

An additional line filter has been added to the DC Power Supply
in order to bring the DC power supply into compliance with NEBS
Level 3 and FCC Class B specifications.

Corrective action was made available in Manufacturing via
Worldwide StopShip/Purge P001-20102.A2 on February 18, 2003,
and by dash rolling the 370-5527 DC power supply from -01
to -02 via ECO# WO_25994 as of March 03, 2003. Corrective
action was made available in Sun Services via LEAP 2215 as
of March 07, 2003.

Additionally, the DC Power Supply was dash rolled to -03 to
address an issue that could cause the system to fail when
a hot swap of that unit was attempted. Corrective action
was made available in Manufacturing via ECO# WO_26372 as
of April 15, 2003. Corrective action was made available
in Sun Services via LEAP 2248 as of April 15, 2003.

Special Considerations:
As this involves a non-compliance issue it is, by rule, being addressed
via Mandatory implementation. All affected customers of record are to
be contacted about this manner as soon as possible, and a record kept
of said contact.

To aid the field in this, a Sun legal approved Customer Letter has been
developed and can be viewed at the following URL;

 http://sdpsweb.central/FIN_FCO/FCO/FCO_A0211-1_Dir/CustomerLetter.sxw

Customer List:

The affected customer shipment list showing 23 systems (46 power supplies)
can be viewed at the following URL;

 http://sdpsweb.central/FIN_FCO/FCO/FCO_A0211-1_Dir/CustomerList-systems
Corrective Action:
Proactively replace DC Power Supply, part number 370-5527-01
with 370-5527-02 (or above). These power supplies can be hot
swapped with no impact to system operation. Please refer to
the service manual for more informaton.

Affected Power Supply Identification:
------------------------------------

With power supplies installed in systems, a printed label with the
part number is visable on one of the two DC power supplies. If the
part number is 370-5527-01, it is affected and should be replaced.

An alternative way to determine the power supply dash level is to use
the SSCS (GUI) tool or the CLI tool. Please reference the User Manual
for more information.
Comments:
Any parts returning as part of FCO activity should be clearly marked
with "FCO A0211-1".

All units shipped to Lucent will be addressed via the CIC process.
This includes Sanmina and Software House International, neither
of which are included in the Customer List.
