Issue Description:
Ultra Enterprise E10000 Servers with one of the Control Boards listed above,
that have a jumper strap connecting pin 1 to pin 2 at location J6, can go into
a continuous reset mode because the System Service Processor (SSP) does not see
the controller board during the boot process.

E10000 Control Board part number 501-4839-xx is not affected as the J6 jumper
is not present on this board which was released under ECO# WO_11144.

The fix was cut into Sun Manufacturing during the first week of April '97.

The affected customer list, as well as an updated drawing of the Control
Board showing Jumper J6, can be accessed by following the SunWeb Access
instructions below for locating FIN/FCO Supporting documents.

Replacement Time Estimate:
20 minutes
Special Considerations:
Corrective Action:
Visually inspect Control Board location J6 for jumper strap connecting pin 1
to pin 2. If present remove the jumper strap. Leave the header intact on the
board. Reset the Control Board by allowing the system to boot and adjust fan
speed.

Upon failure replace with 501-4839-01 or 501-4345-53 (J6 jumper less) boards
or with Control Board having the jumper strap removed.
