Purpose

Problem

With the release of d02.11.xx.yy microcode, the VSM subsystem will fill the pfaelg4 logs with FSC8994, a diagnostic code collecting information.  This file overflow may occur daily.

A Troubleshooting Guide is provided to assist in debugging a specific issue. When possible, diagnostic tools are included in the document to assist in troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting Details

Solution

VSM support will perform the following tasks:
  1. Download the internal VSM base files with either SDP or CSRC, and then move the files to the zenobia server.
  2. Use the crunch_it all script to create the needed output.
  3. Analyze the following files: pfaelg4a.cnt, pfaelg4b.cnt , pfaelg4c.cnt. and pfaelg4d.cnt.
  4. If the pfaelg4 growth is due to FSC8994, open a field task in the respective service request to have the local account team install the d02.12.08 or later microcode.
