Description

When troubleshooting a possible memory problem it can be helpful to know what is the least amount of memory that can be installed, and where it can be installed. Testing in a minimum configuration can help isolate a failure that
could be DIMM or system board related.

Steps to Follow

  !!!!NOTE!!!! The information below is strictly for troubleshooting use only
and are NOT supported memory configurations.

The system can be reduced to one DIMM and still power on and run diagnostics. The location that one DIMM can be installed is any of the four "DIMM0" sockets. They are marked with an "*" in the motherboard diagram below. Note that the format of the DIMM locations in the diagram is:

            silk screened on board/logical name used by diagnostics
