Part number / cable diagram for SL3000 serial cable.

Solution

The Serial cable p/n is 24100134
DB-9 to RJ45 ..... 9 pin in rear of PC .... to RJ45 (IP style connector)

You can buy the RJ45 to DB9 head-shells ( pins not connected on the serial end ) locally for a few $, wire them up as per below and use a standard ethernet cable.

Works perfectly and one less cable to carry.....

Refer to the attached document for pin location on connector.
