How to replace an X4440 Air Duct:ATR:2181:0

Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:
This customer-replaceable unit can be replaced by anyone

DELIVERY REQUIREMENT:
Schedule with maintenance window

Estimate AP Duration = 2.5 hours

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

1. Power off server
2. Disconnect power cords from power supply

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. Slide server out of rack
2. Attach antistatic wrist strap
3. Remove top cover

Removing the Air Duct

1. Remove mezzanine tray, to access air duct
2. Lift air baffle out of mezzanine tray
3. Slide motherboard air duct to right to disengage pin on left side
4. Slide air duct to left to disengage pin on right side
5. Move air duct towards back to clear lip on midwall
6. Lift air duct out of server
7. Set air duct aside

Installing the Air Duct

1. Reverse the Removing process

Return Server to Operation

1. Reinstall mezzanine tray
2. Install top cover
3. Install server into rack

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Bring system back online
