  Solution

Applies to:

Oracle Key Manager - Version: 2.1 to 2.3 - Release: 2.0 to 2.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

There are three (3) types of servers deployed for use in the Oracle Key Manager product:
1.  SunFire X2100 M2 server
2.  SunFire X2200 M2 server
3.  SunFire X4170 M2 server

The network connection layout at the rear panel of the X4170 is slightly different than the X2x00 servers.

Solution

The main differences are:

1.  The Service network port (NET MGT) on the X4170 is also the ILOM IP management port
2.  Ethernet ports (0,1,2,3) on the X4170 are used as follows:
      Net 0 = KMS/OKM Management interface
      Net 1 = (not used)
Net 2 = Service network for tape drives
Net 3 = Service network for tape drives and may also be used for Aggregated network for tape drives

See images below to compare rear panel view between X4170 and X2100/X2200 servers.
