How to replace a X4150/X4250 system board battery

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
No specific skills required
Note: No 1 flat-blade screwdriver is required

DELIVERY REQUIREMENT:
Schedule maintenance window

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Failed or expired battery

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
Data backup not required but recommended as a precaution
Orderly shutdown of applications
Shutdown of OS and power down of server

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Ensure standard ESD procedures are followed

1. Power off the server and unplug (REMOVE) the power cords
2. Remove the top cover
3. Remove the PCI riser board 0 (closest to power supplies)
4. Using the flat-blade screwdriver, press the latch on the battery compartment and remove the battery
5. Install the replacement battery with the positive side facing upwards (away from motherboard)
6. Install PCI riser board 0
7. Replace top cover and re-attach power cords
8. Login to the ILOM and issue the setdate command to set the correct date and time

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Login into ILOM via http or ssh access and validate the date and time. If incorrect, set from the ILOM
