No specific skills required DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: schedule with maintenance window *FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS* PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty DVD WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution. The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: 1. Powering off the system 2. Remove the rear cover 3. Remove the bezel 4. Remove the front cover 5. Remove the upper cable retainer 6. Disconnect the motherboard/SAS backplane cable 7. Push the spring latch to the right and hold 8. Remove the DVD super-multi drive from the chassis 9. Place the drive on an antistatic mat 10.Slide the DVD super-multi drive into the front of the chassis until it seats 11.Connect the motherboard/SAS backplane cable to the DVD super-multi drive 12.Install the upper cable retainer 13.Install the bezel 14.Install the rear cover 15.Powering on the system OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: PARTS NOTE: REFERENCE INFORMATION: Service Manual. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19088-01/ TIME ESTIMATE: 45 Minutes Attachments This solution has no attachment |
