WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer is not required to perform a system shutdown.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. Open the disk fan tray access door
2. Verify that the fan tray is faulty
A lit Fan Fault indicator on the top of a fan tray indicates that the fan tray is faulty
Note ! The hard drive fan tray has two fans
3. Pull up on the fan tray handle and remove the fan tray from the chassis
4. Insert the new fan tray
5. Confirm that the new fan tray is working. The LED should not be lit
6. Close the fan tray door
