TIME ESTIMATE: 15 Minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Faulty Fan

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer is not required to perform a system shutdown.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. Determine which fan tray needs to be removed
2. Open the appropriate fan tray door
3. Release the fan tray from its bracket pulling the two green release pins up
4. Grasp the fan tray by its release pins and pull the fan tray up and out of the system
5. Insert the new fan tray
6. Confirm that the new fan tray is working
The fay tray indicator should be green
7. Close the fan tray door

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Check Fan tray LEDs
