No specific skills required beyond standard partner training. DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: Immediate TIME ESTIMATE: 30 Minutes FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty PCI card WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution. The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: 1. Powering off the system 2. Remove the top cover 3. Disconnect any external cables attached to the faceplate of the PCI card. 4. Disconnect any internal cables connected to the PCI card internal connectors 5. Release the latch securing the PCI card to the chassis. 6. Pull the PCI card from its slot 7. Place the PCI card on an antistatic mat 8. Install the new PCI card into its slot 9. Rotate the latch down and secure it with the retaining pin. 10.If necessary, connect any internal cables to the PCI card internal connectors. 11.If necessary, connect any external cables to the PCI card. 12.Install the top cover. 13.Powering on the system OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Performing a reconfiguration boot if necessary to recognize the new PCI card.
