Goal

The purpose of this document is to show how to determine what is the current version that is running in the libraries SL500, SL3000 or SL8500.

Solution

Through SLConsole:
  • The first step is to log into SL Console.
  • Once logged in, select Library, in the main root. (i.e Library 1,0,0,0,0).
  • When the Library is selected, choose in the Toolbar 'System Detail'.
  • Then choose the tab 'Properties'.
  • Then pick the sub-tab 'Library Controller'.
  • Under 'Code Version' box you will find the version of the current microcode.

Through SSH:
If you do not have access to SL Console, you can also obtain the current version via console command.
  • The first step is to connect to the library through SSH.
  • Execute the command; version print <device address>  i.e SL8500> version print 1,0,0,0,0
  • A list will be displayed with all library controller versions, same information listed through SL Console.
