Goal

Primary goal is the provide customer with steps needed to pull Xray support files from Oracle-Sun VTLs under varying support conditions.  Xrays support files are used by Oracle support to provide remote diagnostics for Oracle-Sun VTL products.

Secondary goal is to provide field support assistance, in the event field support is in a position to pull Xrays at customers site.

Solution

Site Conditions

  • VTL server is healthy - this is when the VTL Console is showing the server and storage as up. Server is running normally, but there is some question about some function of the VTL services. In these cases the VTL Xray can be taken from the VTL Console GUI.  The knowledge item that describes this process is KM 1185517.1
  • VTL server is failed over -  this in when one VTL server's services are failed over on to its partner. In this case the server that is still up providing services can have its Xray pulled by VTL Console using KM 1185517.1,  but the server that is down will need to have its Xray pulled from command line using KM 1146464.1
For Xrays from healthy server use <>

For Xrays from failed over server use <>
