The installation of StorageKeys requires an active DOP session be established
from the PC to the subsystem. This DOP connection can be local or remote via SDP.
A StorageKey email containing the StorageKeys to be applied. These should be
emailed at the time the machine is shipped to the customer. If this is not
available then StorageKeys can be ordered via marketing sales order.
1. Site Location number, serial number and customer name are required fields.
2. Customer Name should be the end user name not the partner name as partners
change.
3. Site Location number - if not entered should be generated as the family ID
followed by the last 5 digits of the serial number.
Example: VSM5 serial number 567000200005 would generate Site Location number
56700005.
Alternately, in emergency situations, StorageKeys can be requested from TSC.
Be prepared to provide: Subsystem serial number (including family ID),
Customer Name, Sales Order number, Site Location number (if available) and what
options are required including sizes for cache and PCAP.
The Maintenance-On StorageKey must be installed with 60 minutes of an IML.
If this is not done then a power cycle may be required before the machine
will accept the Maintenance-On StorageKey. This timer does not apply to other
StorageKeys, just Maintenance-On.
