Goal

Information on Partitioning.

Solution

Steps to Follow
Where to finding information on Partitioning for SL500:
Information on partitioning for the Sun StorageTek[TM] SL500 Modular Library System  can be found in the SL500 User's Guide, PN96116, in chapter 6.

Use the following for code prior to 1300.

For partitioning commands via CLI:

You can do a "help all" and see the command but here it is:

allowpartitions
   Set the 'allowpartitions on/off' option.
This option controls whether or not the library allows partitioning.
Setting option to 'on' allows partitioning.
Setting option to 'off' will disallows partitioning.

This is only available on with 1232 code and higher.  At this point as long as the customer has at least 3.44 version of SLC, they should see a "Partitioning" option on the left drop down menu list to be able to configure partitioning.

For SL500 libraries at code 1300 and above, partitioning is enabled via SILKs licensing.

NOTE: ACSLS does NOT support partitioning on the SL500 library.
