Checking CPU card cage alignment:

1. Check to see when installing/removing CPUs in slots 0 & 1, if they have more drag than in slots 2 or 3.

If slots 0 & 1 does more drag than 3 or 4, then follow the “CPU CARD CAGE BEST PRACTICE INSTALLATION” procedure. If there is no noticeable difference in the drag in all cpu slots, then the card cage is installed properly.

CPU CARD CAGE BEST PRACTICE INSTALLATION:

1. With all screws that hold down the card cage loosened, first tighten down the screw at cpu slot #1. Go to step #2 for details.

2. Use your finger to hold this lower part of the support bar out towards the center of the MB as shown in the picture. Keep a constant pressure on this bar while tightening down this cpu slot #1 screw.

3. See if there is any drag installing cpu 0 or 1. If not, then got to step #4. If the drag continues then retry steps 1 & 2 again. 4. Tighten down remaining cpu card cage screws.
