Steps to Follow For a general overview about Wan Boot, go to the following URL: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19253-01/821-0439/index.html What is the minimal OBP version that support WAN Boot ? Only OBP 4.x platforms will have WAN Boot support. If a platform is currently running OBP 3.x, it will *not* get WAN Boot support with the one exception of Ultra 60 & clones (Ultra[TM] 60, Netra[TM] 1120/1125, E220R) The platforms being targeted are: - Sun Blade[TM] 100/Sun Blade[TM]150 - Sun Blade[TM] 1000/Sun Blade[TM] 2000, Sun Fire[TM] 280R, Netra[TM] 20 - Sun Blade[TM] 2500, Sun Fire[TM] V210/V240, Sun Fire[TM] V250 - SunServer Blade1 - Sun Blade[TM]1500 - Sun Fire[TM] 880R - Sun Fire[TM ]280R - Sun Fire[TM] 15k - Netra[TM] T1 120/T1125 (Ultra60 clones) - Platforms currently under development. It is expected that OBP 4.14 and greater will support WAN Boot. PROM patch release notes on SunSolve will cover this information. To determine whether the prom supports Wan Boot, the NVRAM variable is 'network-boot-arguments'.
