Goal

How does auto clean work on C2 library?
How does expired cleaning tape notify customer?

Solution

Steps for working Auto Clean:
Information on how Auto Clean works in the C2 library is found in the Software Interface Guide, page 5.  Refer to 1016840.1 for access to this manual.

There is no cleaning count on the C2 and an expired cleaning cartridge is not auto ejected.

The SuperLoader 3 (C2) does not keep track of the number of times a cleaning tape is used. Instead, it relies on the tape drive to report when the tape has expired. When this happens, the C2 will notify the user via the front panel. The Auto Clean function is automatically disabled until the user inserts a new cleaning tape and re-enables the feature.
