1b. If you decide not to utpreserve the existing data, you should stop all daemons before uninstallation:

   - Stop the Sun Ray Server Software daemons:

       # /etc/init.d/utsvc stop

   - Stop the Sun Web Server (SWS) (only 1.0 - 1.2):

       # /etc/init.d/httpd stop

   - Stop the Sun Ray[TM] Admin Server (only 1.3 and 2.0):

       # /etc/init.d/utws stop

   - Stop Sun Directory Services (SDS) (only 1.0-1.3):

       # /etc/init.d/dsserv stop

   - Stop the Sun Ray[TM] Data Store (SRDS) daemons (since 2.0):

       # /etc/init.d/utds stop

2. Disable Sun Ray firmware downloads:

      # /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utfwadm -D -a -n all

3. If you want to uninstall the SRSS 1.0, remove all 108303-XX patches before uninstallation

       # /usr/sbin/patchrm 108303- XX

4. The Controlled Browser was provided only with the SRSS 1.3 and SRSS 2.0 on Solaris[TM]. If you have installed the Controlled Browser, uninstall it:

       # cd /cdrom/cdrom0

      # cd Supplemental/Controlled_Browser/Solaris_2.6+/Product (SRSS 1.3)

      # cd Supplemental/Controlled_Browser/Solaris_8+/Packages (SRSS 2.0)

      # ./cbinstall -u

5. Remove any failover configuration:

       # /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utreplica -u

6. Remove any Sun Ray[TM] interfaces:

       # /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utadm -r

7. Unconfigure the Sun Ray[TM] Server Software:

      # /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utconfig -u

     Answer y to all of the prompts.

8. Removal of packages:

     If you installed any unbundled add-ons (such as the PC/SC bypass, or AMGH), remove these first.

     If you initially installed the SRSS 3.0 beta, and upgraded to SRSS 3.0 without uninstalling the SUNWutgsm and SUNWutref packages before upgrade, please first remove these two packages, using pkgrm on Solaris, resp. rpm -e on Linux

       # /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utinstall -u

     On Linux, you will be asked whether the Sun Ray[TM] enhanced GDM should remain on your system. In you answer  no  you will have to reinstall the system's original GDM rpm if you want non Sun Ray[TM] displays, such as the console, to be managed.

     Answer y to all of the other prompts.

9. Manually remove any remainders:

      # /bin/rm -rf /etc/opt/SUNWut

      # /bin/rm -rf /var/opt/SUNWut

      # /bin/rm -rf /opt/SUNWut

      # /bin/rm /tftpboot/SunRayP* /tftpboot/CoronaP*

10. If you configured the Sun Ray[TM] server for SSL (SRSS 2.0 and 1.3 only), remove SSL certificates:

      Remove the Federal Naming Service directory:

      # /usr/bin/rm -rf /var/fn

      Delete the certificate directory:

       # /usr/bin/rm -rf /var/certs

      Delete the Root Certificate authority user:

      # /usr/sbin/userdel rcauser

      If SSL certificates were configured under any Sun Ray[TM] Server Software lower than 2.0, delete the following certificate logfile:

       # /usr/bin/rm /etc/ski/rcauser.certlog

      If SSL certificates were configured under Sun Ray[TM] Server Software 2.0, delete

      # /usr/bin/rm /var/opt/SUNWut/http/ski/rcauser.certlog

11. Reboot

     If you had used Sun Ray[TM] private interfaces on Solaris, a reconfiguration reboot is recommended.

       # /usr/bin/touch /reconfigure

      # /usr/sbin/init 6

     On Linux :

     # /sbin/init 6
