Steps to Follow
Information for CSE To Log Into the CLI With Admin Password:

Admin password is not allowed to access the CLI data path as it is reserved for Service Personnel only. The customer must use the GUI interface and SL Console.

1. You cannot log into the CLI with Admin password once it has been setup/activated.

2. You can log into the CLI with Admin with the activation password (only), it will prompt you to change the password. Once that is done, the Admin password will only work on SLC. (see note 1).

3. The "admin" login is for SLC use only. Attempting to login to the CLI using admin will result in:

Initial login (activation) on CLI
Login as: admin
Password (activation):

Warning: Your password has expired, please change it now

Enter new UNIX password: newpw **write it down also clear password with customer**

Retype new UNIX password: newpw **from above**

***ERROR::Service::main()SERVICE Task create failed, status==49.

(Do not leave written password laying around, secure it and/or give it to appropriate Customer Rep.)

Subsequent CLI login attempts yields
Login as: admin
Password: newpw
***ERROR::Service::main()SERVICE Task create failed, status==49.

4. You could login to SL Console using the "admin" login and "newpw" that was created. With SL Console, you CANNOT activate logins using SL Console (for admin, service, or oem logins). CLI must be used to activate. Once login is activated via CLI, then you can login to SL Console using the login/pw set during the activation process.

5. If an activation password is used on SL Console (even though it "doesn't appear to work"), it becomes "used" and another activation password must be obtained to activate via CLI. So, for the libraries that activation was attempted on via SL Console, a new activation passwd will be needed.

Note 1 : To remind you that once, the "admin" login is activated via CLI, do not attempt to login to CLI via admin, as it will not work. Admin is for use on SL Console only.
