How to downgrade from a D (extended) format to B format CDS
VTCS DECOM Utility
VTCS CONFIG RESET
HSC MERGEcds
HSC SLICREAT
VTCS
HSC
Extended format CDSs (C, D or E format) only pertain to systems running in a virtual environment.
This process is only required in a virtual environment running VTCS.
In an HSC-only environment (without VTCS), this process is not required.

Steps to Follow
1. Run the HSC 5.0 or 5.1 Database Decompile (LIBGEN) utility to recreate the LIBGEN file to match the library configuration.
2. Run the VTCS 5.0 or 5.1 DECOM utility to list the current VSM configuration.

3. Create a new CDS with HSC SLICREAT using HSC 5.0 or 5.1 (using the LIBGEN file created in step 1 as input). Note that while either version can be used, the highest available of these two versions should always be used

4. Run CONFIG using VTCS 5.0 or 5.1, pointing to the new CDS created in step 3 (using the DECOM output created in step 2 as input)

Note that the VTCS CONFIG card must be CONFIG only. Remove Version(NEW)

5. Run HSC MERGEcds under HSC 5.0 or 5.1 to convert and copy the existing D format CDS to the new B format CDS.
Note: HSC must be at Base Service Level when running MERGEcds.
