Goal

Description
How to reset password on L-Series Library Admin.

Solution

Steps to Follow
Use the following instructions when the password cannot be remembered and the password needs to be reset for the L-Series Library Administrator:

1. Prior to resetting a password, make sure the password is not already at default of "horizon" (lower case) - should be displayed on Op Panel if this is the case.

2. Check the number of asterisks shown on the Op Panel as this may help in remembering the password i.e. ***** means password is 5 characters in length.

3. Should the above steps fail, the Oracle/StorageTek local support personnel will have to contact Level 2 Tape Hardware Support for further instructions on how to specifically Reset the password.

Note: The reason for this requirement is the instructions to 'Reset' the password are considered StorageTek Secret. This information is not to be used outside StorageTek Support Services and thus a Oracle/StorageTek CSE will be required on site to reset the password. The instructions will be provided verbally once Entitlements are verified.

This information is to be provided verbally only to Oracle/StorageTek Customer Support Personnel. To reset the Password, use the following instructions:
