Goal

Log viewing tool to analyze SL500 and SL8500 Library Logs.

Steps to Follow
Troubleshooting Steps
Refer to document 1015680.1 for information on using this tool with SL8500 libraries.

The input file for the log viewer can be pulled via StreamLine Library Console.

After logging into SLC using your Service ID and Password:

  • Select Tools
  • Select Reports
  • Open Permanent Reports
  • Select Event Log
  • Select Save after the report is noted in the display window, may take a couple of minutes to download to your local PC.
  • Select *.txt as you file type, NOTE: the log viewer application can NOT input the default file type of HTML
  • Name and save the file to your local PC.

  • Note - Logs pulled through engineering access can also be viewed and parsed with this program.

from CLI attach

run > print log all

  •      Save file to your PC
  •      Start Log viewer on your PC
  •      direct file open to saved file
  •      refer to Log Viewer manual for more options and procedures.
