Goal

This article addresses fixed-cell cartridge replacement and audit information.

Can cartridges be manually replaced from fixed cells?

Are fixed cells inventoried during cell inventory?

Solution

Steps to Follow
Manually changing the tape cartridges out of the two fixed cells in the C4 library is NOT recommended due to the potential of damaging the robotics when reaching in and out of the library.  The fixed cells were not designed to be accessed manually.
When the 'Inventory Full' option is enabled on the OCP panel, the robotics will appear to inventory the two fixed cells.  In reality, the code is not updating the inventory data base. The 'Inventory Full' option was only intended for use on the Load Ports and Magazines, NOT for the fixed cells.

This was addressed in C4 code release above V26.
