Goal

The purpose of this document is to describe how to collect support information from arrays, otherwise known as Support Data, or All Support Data. This is specific to Sun StorageTek[TM] SANtricity Storage Manager, and the arrays that capable of being managed by it.

Solution

SANtricity GUI (SMclient)

  1. Launch SANtricity.
  2. Double Click on the array in question to open the Array Management Window for your array.
  3. Click on the Advanced Menu.
  4. Select the Troubleshooting Sub Menu.
  5. Select Collect All Support Data.
  6. Specify a file name and directory.
  7. Click Start.
SMcli scripting client

SMcli -n array_name -c "save storageArray supportData filename=\"array_name-support.zip\";"

The location of SMcli can be found in:

Solaris:  /opt/SMgr/client
Windows:  C:\Program Files\StorageManager\client
Linux: /opt/SMgr/client
