Description
The HBT card is the tape drive controller, responsible for translating commands from the library controller (HBC card) into unique drive commands that are transferred across differential RS-422 cables to the tape drives (the TTI interface).



    Steps to Follow
    * Provides TTI interface to/from the tape drives (RS-422)
    * Contains 66 Universal Asynch Receiver/Transmitters (UARTs)
    * 64 perform parallel-to-serial conversion for the drives
    * 2 communicate with the tape environmental monitor cards (HBD)
