Description
When the MegaRAID 320-2X Dual Ultra-320 SCSI adapter is installed into these systems, they come under the control of the SCSI BIOS on the adapter, and no longer visible from the onboard SCSI controller. As a result, drivers for this adapter need to be incorporated into the new installation.

Steps to Follow
Drivers for the MegaRAID card can be found at the following site:

The drivers will be for the MegaRAID Dual Ultra-320 SCSI adapter.

To install the device driver for Red Hat 7.3, 8.0, 9.0, AS 2.1, or AS 3.0, you will need to do the following:
1. Boot to CD-ROM from Disk 1
2. Type: linux dd
The screen displays the following message:
"Do you have a disk driver?"
3. Select: Yes
4. Insert floppy disk you created from the driver image and press <OK>
5. Follow the Red Hat Linux installation procedure to complete the installation.
To install the device driver to SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 8.0, you will need to do the following:
1. Boot the server with SLES CD-ROM Disk 1.
The system BIOS must support booting from a CD-ROM. Make sure that this is set in the BIOS of the system.
2. At the first screen, press <Alt> immediately
3. Put the driver update floppy disk in the drive bay and install normally
The installation process should pick up the new driver from the floppy disk.
4. Switch to console 4 to verify the correct driver, by pressing <Alt><F4>.
If there are error messages, the ACPI needs to be disabled on the system. To disable APCI, reboot the machine with CD 1 and perform steps 1 and 2 above. 
Next, type the following kernel parameters:
acpi=off
and install normally.
