Goal

In a Power PPRC WAN setup, there are situations when it is necessary to cold IML both the primary and secondary SVAs or it becomes desirable to reverse the direction of the PPRC link. This document relays this process.

Solution

Before starting this cold IML or direction reversal, the customer must physically locate the CNT Ultranet Storage Director interface cards to which these SVAs are attached - there may be other SVAs or other devices connected to the CNT Ultranet Storage Director.
Please see named 1000000000000167000000CD5F59E2E3.jpg below.
CNT Interface Card

Arrow points to the reset button.

For a cold IML, once the interface cards have been located, begin the IML of the SVAs, then press the reset button on the interface cards of the CNT Ultranet Storage Director

For direction reversal, delete the PPRC link, press the reset buttons on the interface cards of the CNT Ultranet Storage Director  then re-establish the PPRC link in the opposite direction.

DO NOT reset unaffected interface cards.

Note: Oracle does not recommend that a pencil of any type be used to push the reset button; use a pen or a straightened paperclip.

Caution: DO NOT reset the CNT Ultranet Storage Director by cycling the main breaker! Use the reset button located on the front of the interface card.
