Description
As documented in the Sun StorEdge[TM] 3310 SCSI Array Release Notes (816-7292), the Sun StorEdge [TM] 3310 is supported on the on-board SCSI port of some servers, including the following :

Sun Fire[TM] V250,
Sun Fire[TM] V240,
Sun Fire[TM] V440,
Sun Fire[TM] V1280.

This onboard SCSI port uses the "glm" SCSI driver. By default, only 8 luns are recognized per target by the glm driver. This document explains how to configure more than 8 luns per target.

Steps to Follow
In order for the glm driver to recognize more than 8 luns per target on the StorEdge 3310, the default "scsi-options" need to be modified. There are two ways to do this :

1. GLOBALLY - not recommended

The following line can be added in the /etc/system file :

set scsi_options=0x43ff8

A host reboot is required to make this active.

Caution: Adding this line in the /etc/system file is not recommended as it will affect ALL SCSI bus on the system, not just the SCSI bus to the Sun StorEdge [TM] 3310

2. LOCALLY - recommended

The following entry can be added to the /kernel/drv/glm.conf :

device-type-scsi-options-list = "SUN     StorEdge 3310", "SE3310-scsi-options";
SE3310-scsi-options = 0x43ff8;

Make sure that there are exactly five spaces between "SUN" and "StorEdge" in the entry "SUN StorEdge 3310". Also ensure there is no newline after the = sign.

If /kernel/drv/glm.conf does not already exist, create it, containing just the recommended entry.

A host reboot is required to make this activ
