Description
This document addresses the procedure to change the public hostname of a Sun Fire [TM] 12K/15K/E20K/E25K domain.

Steps to Follow
In general, the sys-unconfig command is used to change the hostname of a Solaris[TM] Operating System. If this method is used on a Sun Fire[TM] 15K system, however, the domain management network between the domain and the system controller will also be unconfigured.
To change the public hostname of a Sun Fire 12K/15K/E20K/E25K domain, the following steps should be performed.

Modify the /etc/hosts file, updating it to include the new public hostname.
Modify the /etc/nodename file, updating it to include the new public hostname.
Modify the /etc/hostname.<interface> file where interface is the network connected to the public network. For example, if the system uses interface ce0, the filename is /etc/hostname.ce0
Edit the hosts files under the following directories, updating them to include the new hostname: /etc/net/ticlts /etc/net/ticots /etc/net/ticotsord
Reboot the system.
