Steps to Follow

Summary

The PCI slot 4 on the Sun Fire [TM] 280R server is 64 bits wide and can accommodate 32 or 64 bit PCI cards. Information about slot 4 is incorrect in the Sun Fire 280R Server Owner's Guide.

Detail

The Sun Fire 280R Server Owner's Guide incorrectly states that PCI slot 4 is 32 bits wide and that it can accomodate only 32 bit PCI cards. The correct information is that PCI slot 4 is 64 bits wide, and it can accomodate both 32 bit and 64 bit PCI cards.

The incorrect information is found in Chapter 4, Hardware and Software Configuration, in the "About Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Buses" section. The table entry for row "PCI 4" and column "Slot Width (bits) / Card Type (bits)" is incorrect. The table entry is "32 / 32", but it should be "64 / 32 or 64".
