Goal

By using Prism Management Card(PMC) Web Browser, we can gather the PMC system logs plus library trace dumps which contain the library configuration, status and error logs.

Solution

Steps to Follow
(1) Make sure you can access PMC through Web Browser.

If you cannot access PMC Web Browser, refer to Prism Management Card User's Guide and configure accordingly.

(2) Make sure PMC firmware version 4.3.1 or later.

This feature is added by version 4.3.1. Refer to Patch ID: 116168-02.

(3) Stop the backup application.

(4) Get the logs from PMC Web Browser.

- Click "Service Operation" under ALERT Library Management in the navigation frame. (Prism Home -> ALERT Library Management -> Service Operations)

- Scroll down the ALERT Library Management frame to "Download Logs" .

- Check "Include library logs" to include the library trace dumps.

- Click "Download" button.

You will be able to get log file(PMClog.tar) from L25/L100 Library. If you cannot get it due to proxy timeout, please change your browser setting so that does not use proxy for PMC.
