Description

When NTP service is used in a T3+, the following messages could be present after
each ntp polling.

            NTPD[1]: I: select(): nfound = 0, error?
NTPD[1]: I: ts *: 0x2080be8 l_ui 0xffffffff l_uf 0x47788ad7
NTPD[1]: I: NTP done

This message is not reporting any error, NTPD is just informing that any time adjustment was needed.

Steps to Follow

In order to avoid the message, loglevel should be configured to 3 using T3+ command line interface.

</>set loglevel 3

Using the set command without options will show current loglevel configuration

The level of messages to be logged are:

0=none
1=errors
2=warnings/errors
3=notices/warnings/errors
4=informational/notices/warnings/errors

To find the ntp polling interval configuration, use the following CLI command:

</>ntp

More information could be found in the "Sun StorEdge T3+ Array Administrator's Manual" http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19700-01/index.html

Refer to Chapter 9 (Network Time Protocol Configuration) for NTP guidelines
Refer to Chapter 12 (CLI Commands) for set and ntp command details.
