Description
To redirect input/output to tty"a", you must be able to get to the lom prompt through the alarm card. At the lom prompt, the bootmode command can be used to set defaults, or go to the OK prompt, and set input and output device to ttya.

For more information on using the bootmode command, see InfoDoc 7047.

Steps to Follow
To go to the OK prompt from the lom prompt, type:
lom> console

ok> setenv input-device ttya

ok> setenv output-device ttya

If you pull the alarm card to try to force the output to ttya, the system will fail POST and power down.

To connect to the alarm card, use cable part number 530-1871 and adapter part number 530-2889.
