Description
This document is meant to serve as a direction to contract available technical resources for pinout information on a wide range of Sun[TM] products.

Steps to Follow
TECHNICAL REFERENCE:

Go to "Communication Troubleshooting" section of the handbook at:

https://support.oracle.com/handbook_private/General/Comm_Tr.html

Previously existing individual document references appear below which
have been consolidated into this document. All the information was
centralized and associated with the Communication section of the
handbook available on Sunsolve at the URL above.

1. Built-in RJ-45 connectors for serial ports allow the Netra T1
server to be connected easily without adapters. A standard
straight through Category 5 cable can be used (null modem cable
no longer needed). See technical reference above.

2. Netra[TM] T1 105 RJ45 - RS232 serial converter cable. SUN part
number 530-2889-01. See technical reference above.

  Uses: Console terminal. No modems.
Note: Use this 7 pin DB25 adapter. Other adapters with fewer
pins will not work.

3. On a SparcStation 4/20 (SLC), a modem installed on ttyb has
problems, usually related to DTR. See technical reference above.

Note: Install a modem on ttya, and perhaps a printer on ttyb.
Port B is asynchronous only.
