Description
This technical instruction lists instructions to set up a Windows HyperTerminal Session to capture data from a Sun System Console. This captured data can be useful for case creation and data analysis.

Steps to Follow
This information applies to using the HyperTerminal application on a Microsoft Windows host. If you are using a Solaris[TM] system, the script command is the easiest method to capture data.
To save a HyperTerminal session to a file:
1) From the Windows Start menu go to Accessories --> Communications
2) Double Click the hyperterminal icon.
3) Configure your session for serial port access for your server or storage array
i.e. Bits per second, Data bits and Parity
4) On the transfer menu, click Capture Text.
5) Type a descriptive file name, or click Browse to select the path and
file name, and then click Start.
6) Once the session is completed you should have a text file which can be sent to Sunsolve, placed into a radiance case or emailed.
