Goal

The intend of this document is to provide you with the steps to identify the installed version of Raid Manager 6.

Solution

  1. From the server running Raid Manager 6, list the information for the package SUNWosar.

    # pkginfo -l SUNWosar

    Example:

    # pkginfo -l SUNWosar
    PKGINST: SUNWosar
    NAME: Open Storage Array (Root)
    CATEGORY: system
    ARCH: sparc
    VERSION: 6.01,REV=01.11
    BASEDIR: /
    VENDOR: Sun Microsystems, Inc.
DESC: system software for Open Storage Array
    PSTAMP: sonne980413152906
    INSTDATE: Jan 08 1999 18:07
    VSTOCK: 06.01.01.11
HOTLINE: Please contact your local service provider
    STATUS: completely installed
    FILES: 34 installed pathnames
    14 shared pathnames
    15 directories
    6 executables
    1459 blocks used (approx)
  2. Look for the line VSTOCK as shown above.
There are 4 fields, each separated by a dot. The version will be the 2nd digit of the first field. In the above example, it is 6.1.1. The last field is the build number. In the above example, it is 11 commonly known as update 1.
Thus, the above version of Raid Manager is 6.1.1 update 1.

Additionally, `pkginfo -l SUNWosar` will report other versions of Raid Manager as:

VERSION 6.01,REV=00.19 Raid Manager 6.1
VERSION 6.01,REV=01.04 Raid Manager 6.1.1
VERSION 6.01,REV=01.11 Raid Manager 6.1.1 u1
VERSION 6.01,REV=01.11 Raid Manager 6.1.1 u2 [*]
VERSION 6.22,REV=01.14 Raid Manager 6.22
VERSION 6.22,REV=01.54 Raid Manager 6.22.1

* Only 6.1.1 u2 will return output from `pkgparam SUNWosafw | grep 106513`.
