Solution

Steps to Follow
FB 102030 has been released for the SL8500 to adjust the CAP assembly.

SL8500 Cap Adjustment FB 102030

Several sites have reported problems with the SL8500 CAP at install or within a short period of time of putting the library into production.  The symptom is typically the CAP will not close completely and the unlock LED on the keypad assembly stays illuminated. If the CAP does not rotate to the closed position the SL8500 Sbots will not attempt to audit and enter the associated cartridges.

FB_102030/EC_141406 has been released to provide CAP shims and instructions to properly adjust the cap assembly if required. This is an exceptional activity and should not be required at every install. As a precautionary measure these shims are now being packaged with every install kit if needed during the initial installation.

The part number of the 10 shims provided with FB_102030 is PN: 314810601.

One precautionary note: The CAP bracket screws that secure the CAP bracket assembly to the front door are self threading screws. If the CAP assembly is removed and re-installed an excessive number of times the self threading screws potentially can strip out the mounting holes and require replacement of the front door assembly. The fitted shims can be installed without completely removing the CAP assembly per the FB instructions.
