Symptoms

VTL Exports failing due to access denied for some tapes in ACSLS

Cause

VTL node1 had failed over to it's failover partner node2 and node2 does not have ACSLS access control configured to use node1physical tapes.

Solution

Rebuild access control information to allow node2 access to node1's tapes.  Refer to doc id 1014445.1- How to setup volume access control.

This can be done without stopping and restarting ACSLS - refer to step 5 in reference doc id above.

NOTE: VTL failover is normally configured to be a temporary event so that ACSLS does not need to be configured for the failover scenario and a failback will be done before exports are impacted.  However, if there is a prolonged failover (i.e., server hardware issues) it may be necessary to configure ACSLS.
