Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version: Not Applicable and later   [Release: N/A and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

LSMs Go Offline With SSD in RE Configuration.
(Service Safety Door)
(Redundant Electronics)

Cause

Opening the main door while using the Service Safety Door will cause the LSMs to go offline in Redundant Electronics configurations connected to ACSLS.

Solution

The workarounds at this time are either:
a). Disconnect the ethernet cables on the standby HBC card prior to safety door activity, or
b). Prior to using the safety door "query lmu all" to see what ports are standby.  Vary the standby ports offline. Perform the safety door activity.  Vary the standby ports back online.

Final fix will be in future release of code beyond 6.04.
