Symptoms

Short description:

Upper fan module in the SL3000 fan tray may stop at some time by it self, and turn on the fault led. By moving/adjusting the fan tray, it may start spinning again. Moving it again might stop it.. And so on. Fan tray replacement hasn't fixed the problem so far.

Cause

Known tolerance issue with fan tray connector in the SL3000.

Solution

Issue is open with the Quality Engineering Group and is pending resolution.
It is a tolerance stack up issue; it will probably end up as a redesign.

Work Around:
In the interim; release the cable tie by the fan tray connector and re-seat the cable.

Note:
Solution will be updated when a final fix is available.
