Symptoms

To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - 7000 Series ZFS Appliances

 - Can't access system (BUI or ssh/CLI)

 - Can access system only from same subnet

 - Default gateway, static route missing

Changes

N/A

Cause

When a datalink is removed, even when done administratively as a part of another operation,
all routes associated with that datalink are also removed.

Solution

Steps to follow:

 - Consider using the SP console when making changes to network interfaces,
especially the one you use for administration.

Note that this will also occur when switching to and from LACP aggregation.

 - Check all routes after making any changes to datalinks.

 - Connect to the console via the Service Processor if you are unable to
connect to the appliance due to lost routes.

NOTE: Use only the supported administration interfaces to make changes
to network configuration.  Future enhancements may allow us to move the
routes to new or revised datalinks, but these are not currently on the
schedule.
