Symptoms
Media and cleaning cartridges are being seen as unknown media type.
Auto clean has never worked and is set for auto clean in library.
Fails with 1201 and 1232 code.
No compatible cleaning cartridge found for drive.
Location 0,1,1,1///volid CLNU01CU, usage=0, status=unknown,cart.type=unknown
The volume label being used is from the sheet that is supplied with the  Sun StorageTek[TM] SL500 Modular Library System.
The same label works in another SL500 library.
None of the customer cartridges show a media type either.  They all appear as unknown.

Resolution
Turn off the "all" option for the orient label.
It appears that when the all feature is enabled, cleaning carts don't get correctly associated with drives.
There is no solution except to go back to the default.
